Work Placements
A work placement is an invaluable opportunity to experience the life of a Dechert lawyer and also to take part in a variety of social and training events. You would be supervised by a Dechert lawyer who would involve you in their day-to-day work, and you would be paired up with a trainee buddy. Our work placement programmes take place at Easter (one week programmes) and in the summer (two week programmes). Apply from 1 November to 29 February of your penultimate year.
Training Contract
Our recruitment and selection process normally involves one visit to the firm, during which you will have two interviews, two skills tests and a chance to talk to a current trainee whilst he or she takes you around our offices. You would spend a whole morning or afternoon at the firm, and we would let you know the outcome of your interview quickly. Most interviews take place in August and September, for a training contract to start two years later. Apply from 1 June to 31 July between your penultimate and final year.
Assessment Day
Our assessment day gives you the chance to learn about the firm, take part in group discussions and exercises, and to chat informally to our people over lunch. All applicants will automatically be considered for assessment days.
